Grant W. Hicks, CIM

Grant joined the investment industry in 1989 in Winnipeg as a financial professional. He then moved to BC as a financial advisor in the Credit Union system. A few years later he joined a dealer as a partner, where he helped grow the business as General Manager from 20 to over 80 advisors, at which time they sold it to another dealer. He saw great success as a financial advisor, building his practice from $1 million to over $120 million in less than 10 years. In 2008, Grant was awarded top Manulife Securities advisor in British Columbia, IAC channel and he achieved Master Builder Status from Manulife Financial in 2010 and Presidents Award from Manulife Bank in 2010.

Grant sold his practice in 2011 to transition into coaching, speaking and practice management where his passion lies. He is Managing Director of Western Canada for Manulife Securities .He is a dynamic keynote speaker and trainer in the areas of business building and practice management.

Best known for co-authoring Guerrilla Marketing for Financial Advisors (Trafford Publishing) with Jay Conrad Levinson, part of the successful “Guerrilla Marketing “ series which has sold over 21 million copies worldwide. Grant also wrote Canadian Retirement Planning Mistakes (Trafford Publishing) and was a contributing writer for Guerrilla Marketing on the Front Lines (Morgan James Publishing) and Guerrilla Marketing Remix (Entrepreneur Press).

Grant has been an invited speaker at events held by many financial organizations, including TD Bank, Manulife Financial, Standard Life, Advocis, Vancouver Island University, John Hancock, ILS Education and RBC Dominion Securities.

Married with two children, Grant enjoys coaching and playing hockey, golf, boxing and skiing. He played professional hockey in Europe before starting his career in the financial services industry.

Jay Conrad Levinson
The "Father of Guerrilla Marketing"

Jay Conrad Levinson is the author of the best-selling marketing series in history, "Guerrilla Marketing," plus 29 other business books.
